Tip of the day:

One very important step to maintaining a great looking lawn is over-seeding each and every year.   It is easy cheap and only takes a few minutes of your time. Now is the perfect time to over-seed.  The best time to over-seed is when the weather is cool and damp in early summer or spring.  You don't need any special tools, you can use a spreader but it is not necessary.  Over-seeding is a cheap and easy way to replenish you lawn and make it look thick and vibrant.

It's best to reseed you lawn after raking and/or dethatching & Aeration.  Also if you need to cover any moss or fill in any indents or holes with soil then do this prior to re-seeding.

Look for good grass seed blends as they are inexpensive and add some dutch white clover to the mix. Over-seeding with white clover makes future lawn maintenance much easier.  Clover fixes nitrogen in the soil which helps fertilize the grass, it deters chinch bugs and helps choke out unwanted weeds.
