Dealing with Chinch Bug - There are many lawn issue which resemble chinch bug damage. There is an easy way to identify chinch bugs. Simply remove both ends of a tin can the insert one end into your lawn and fill the can with water. If you have chinch bug, you will see them floating in the water. Simply get your shopvac and vacuum your lawn to remove the bugs...It's what the Wolfville Nova Scotia Parks Department does and it works! Removing thatch and adding clover to your lawn will also help deter chinch bugs.
